Fine Art?
People or Landscapes?
I strive to make fine art photos. What is a fine art photo you may ask? I think it is in the eye of the beholder but I see many photos in groups that describe themselves as fine art that are very different from mine. Landscapes, dreamy black and whites, sad looking under-privileged people in third world (shithole) countries, etc. etc. Jurors and curators have their own ideas of what constitutes fine art (usually different from mine). So there does not seem to be much agreement. Anyway, I will show you what I consider to be my fine art and you can feel free to agree or disagree in the comments…..

Colin I think that Fine art like art in general is in the eye of the viewer. As a photographer with 46 years as a professional photographer I too see wedding photographers calling their over edited wedding photos as fine art. Fine art isn't the subject matter or the location it's the technique, the lighting, maybe the pose, shadows, the bending of the light.
Your work is art, maybe not every shot is "fine art", neither is mine. But I have large canvas's hanging on the walls, nudes and landscapes, I've sold landscapes to architects and nudes to Love Hotels in other countries.
Keep creating, bend light everyday, play with it, experiment with it,
Colin you have a knack for making the picture become a wonderful work of art, nothing pornographic just true beauty!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
